What Does a Typical Afterschool Program Day Look Like?
The school day may end in the afternoon, but learning, friendships, and fun don’t have to.

At Adventures with Friends, afternoons are designed to balance relaxation, creativity, outdoor play, and opportunities to build independence.
School Pick-Up
The adventure begins with school pick-up. Children are greeted by a familiar face and safely transported to our home base.
Snack & Catch-Up
After a busy school day, everyone enjoys a snack and has time to talk about their day with friends. This relaxed transition helps children recharge before jumping into afternoon activities.
Homework Support (When Needed)
Children who have homework are given a quiet space and encouragement to complete assignments. Support is available as needed, while keeping the atmosphere positive and low-pressure.
Outdoor Play & Adventure
Whenever possible, we head outside to play, explore, and get moving.
Children might:
- Play at the park
- Ride scooters
- Create obstacle courses
- Play group games
- Explore nature
- Build forts
- Enjoy free outdoor play
Fresh air and movement help children decompress after a full day at school.
Hands-On Activities
Afternoons also include opportunities for creativity and exploration.
